Vancouver Seawall
 Vancouver Seawall

All you need to do to fall in love with Vancouver is to rent a bike and ride along the way of the Vancouver Seawall – paved pathway that stretches some 28 km (17.5 miles) around the city’s waterfront. You can rent a bike and start your ride at the Vancouver Convention Centre heading north to Stanley Park. This is a must do in Vancouver and I could not have asked for a better place to watch the sunset.

While you are close to the water you can take one of the many Aquabus, a water taxi  with eight stops up and down the False Creek every 15 minutes. I did that and went all the way to the Granville Island . The Granville Island has several cool stores and the Granville Public Market, an indoor market featuring all kinds of food and local products. I would recommend to stop here and have a nice meal!

Road Trip – Sea to Sky Highway

The Sea to Sky Highway it is a drive of approximately 1h30min from Vancouver to Whistler with the sea on one side and the steep mountains on the other side, you will see some beautiful views! When you read about the Sea to Sky Highway you will find a list of several places to visit along the way. One of the nice spots to see is the Horseshoe Bay with a beautiful waterfront and some restaurants. I stopped for breakfast at the Troll’s Restaurant right in front of the water with good comfort food. After breakfast I continued the drive to the Brandywine Falls.

In order to get to the Brandywine Falls there is a short trail starting from the parking lot, crossing a covered wooden bridge, and train tracks along the way, until you reach the platform overlooking the waterfall from atop. Once I got to the platform I was just a bit disappointed because there was not direct access to the base of the fall. However, I saw a couple taking pictures close to the waterfall and I started wondering : How did they get there? I looked it up on google and found a blog post about an ‘unofficial’ path to get to the base of the waterfall. All I can tell you is that the hike was not super easy! It was pretty challenging and I would not recommend to do it alone. It took me approximately 1h to get to the base . Also, there was some concerns about bears. So if you decide to do it, BEAR in mind that there are some risks involved! You can google “How to get to the base of Brandywine Falls” and you will find plenty of information. It is indeed really nice and peaceful down there!

I continued my drive to Joffre Lakes, 2h40min from Vancouver. I was super excited to go to this place after seeing beautiful pictures. Unfortunately, I did not plan the time very well so when I got there it was already dark. I did not have time to explore the park so if you decide to go try to plan for a full day! It is definitely worth it!

Lynn Canyon Park

On my last day in Vancouver I went to the Lynn Canyon Park:

Lynn Canyon Park

I loved this park so much! It is so beautiful, peaceful, and a great spot for a nice hike! Most people go to the Capilano Suspension Bridge which is usually crowded. So in a attempt to go to a suspension bridge with less people I ended up at Lynn Canyon Park. I think this spot must be perfect for summer as well because you can get close to the nice green waters and there is no sign saying that you can`t swim. I went there when the weather was cold but it was still really nice to seat on the rocks by the water and just observe the beautiful nature.

I only had two and a half days in Vancouver not enough time to explore everything. There is so much more to see. I hope I can go back one day and continue my adventure! This place is perfect for nature lovers! Canada always brings me great surprises, you can read more about Montreal and Quebec City on my other posts 🙂
